I've recently been on a David Cronenberg binge watch and I must say, the 80's had some creative ideas through the decade. Since it was before CGI mostly. Some directors really had to think outside the box. The story wasn't complex but I do feel as if it depicted the future in terms of what people have done modern day media and entertainment. It was shot in Toronto, and many of the TV studios and settings were based on real Canadian broadcasting environments.
