Really wanted to showcase this band because one their songs have been stuck in my head lately and I just can't shake it so s/o to them. Let me give you some facts about the homies. (I'm going to start being less formal on here because who cares really.)

Formed: Late 1960s in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  • Members (classic lineup):

    • Russell Thompkins Jr. (lead falsetto vocals)

    • Airrion Love (tenor/baritone)

    • Herb Murrell (baritone)

    • James Smith (tenor)

    • James Dunn (bass)

  • They came together out of two high school groups: The Percussions and The Monarchs.

  • The Stylistics are remembered as icons of soul balladry.

  • Their music is frequently sampled and covered—artists from Prince to Boyz II Men and Mary J. Blige have drawn inspiration from their lush vocal style.

  • In terms of impact, they stand alongside The Temptations and The Delfonics as one of the great American vocal harmony groups.
