Francine Van Hove (1942-2025)

On 5 August 2025, painter Francine Van Hove died at age

83. Born in 1942, she initially intended to teach drawing before leaving the French national education system in 1964 to devote herself to artistic creation.


Van Hove was renowned for her meticulously painted oils depicting dreamlike young women in intimate, everyday moments. Her technique is deeply inspired by Italian Renaissance and Flemish masters, evident in her masterful use of light, texture, and refined classical composition.
